Lessons and Permissions

Sometimes things just don’t work out and that is okay. I give myself permission to let them go. I do not have to beat myself up for them.
It’s okay if people don’t understand me, can’t understand me or won’t understand me and what I decide I need and want. I let myself off the hook and let go of the need to overexplain and choose to let the people who are determined to misunderstand me go. I give myself permission to be misunderstood and do what is needed for myself anyway.
I am becoming aware of how I accidentally make my trauma, mistakes and past my identity. I don’t think that there is anything wrong with identifying with your past. I just want to make sure I remember that it is not all that I am. I give myself permission to forgive others who have hurt me and let it go. I give myself permission to forgive myself of any mistakes I have made. I give myself permission to not hold on to my mistakes I make moving forward. I will let myself make them and take the lessons they give me. I give myself permission to move on.
I am going to link a song here that always makes me feel better when I am bogged down by tough life moments. It is called Alienation by Morning Parade.
The line that calls out to me is
“And everything you are, everything you were,
Everything you've been's not everything you'll be.”
It always gives me relief and makes me feel not alone.
The idea of permission slips first came to me through Brene Browns’ work. What permissions do you need to give yourself today? Write them down in a journal or share them in comments if you are called to do so. There is much love here for you and for wherever are in life.
